Wes Lavin's 2017 Summer Part 1
Bob Jensen at
Trinity University
My friend Wes Lavin is a better
photographer than me.
Firstly, he has better equipment than me.
Secondly he travels all over New England just to take pictures in different
seasons.
Most of my photographs are closer to home, and I'm not really into photography
Wes in into photography as a retired school teacher
These are some of the many photographs that Wes took
early on in the Summer 2017 season
These photographs are of the flowers in our wildflower field and surrounding
parts of the village of Sugar Hill
Sugar Hill's "downtown" only has one store
It's called Harmon's Country Store
It sells mostly specialty foods, including varius cheeses
This little store does a huge mail order business in cheese
Every year Sugar Hill has Lupine Festival
This year the Festival was over before the lupine bloomed
The reason for the delay was the long and cold 2017 springtime
But in late June the latter half of June the lupine came on in glorious colar
The pictures below were taken by Wes of the lupine in our wild flower field
south of our cottage
The picture below shows our old maple tree that is
badly split due to the 2013 loss of a huge limb
My hope is that the tree will live as long as I'm alive
This is a shot Wes took of our cottage in June
About two miles down the road is the Robert Frost
Museum where the famous poet lived for a short time
He later moved to southern Vermont because our winters were two harsh for his
orchard trees
This June Wes took a picture of the old and rusted Robert Frost mailbox
These are some of my photographs of the Robert Frost Museum
