Set 02 of Renate's 2020 Pictures From Germany
Bob Jensen at Trinity University
In this edition I feature some photographs sent
to me by Renate who lives not far from
Kempten in
Germany
We used to visit Erika's older brother, Rudi, who lived with his family in Kempten
Rudi is now deceased, but Erika is still close with his widow and grown children
We met Renate on one of her many visits to Sugar Hill where we live in New
Hampshire
Renate and Rudi never met, although Renate has since met Rudi's widow
When Renate visits we often meet with her for a
lunch together
She brings Erika little reminders of the years when Erika was a child in Munich
The photographs below are among the many she sent us in 2020 from Germany
Most were taken during her motor home travels around Bavaria
She also has a lovely alpine home not in Bavaria
Renate is a retired veterinarian
She travels a great deal and enjoys both photography and water coloring
Her grandchildren are often featured in the pictures she sends to me
Wearing masks is not so controversial in Germany
This is very close to where Renate lives
And this is one of her many water color paintings
One thing I noted decades ago is how the underbrush in Germany is cleared to prevent forest fires
Renate wrote that this photograph was taken in
Bacharach
Small European hotels are usually quaint, but many of them are not air
conditioned (sigh)
This was taken by Renate on the Northeast Sea Canal
