Sunrise/Sunset Favorites Set 5
Bob Jensen at
Trinity University
Probably the most beautiful photographs I've taken
in the White Mountains are the Sunrises and Sunsets
My desk faces three mountain ranges (Kinsman, Twin, and Presidential) toward the
east
The sunrises are direct shots taken when the sun is all or partly behind
mountains and clouds
The sunsets are reflections off the mountains and clouds
Directly in front of my desk in the Kinsman range is
the second-highest mountain in New Hampshire (Lafayette)
To the right is Cannon Mountain with its 90+ ski trails
In the picture below you can see my camera in the window's reflection
This picture was taken on a very cold Thanksgiving Day in 2018
Since then we had a bit of melting and then more snow
What's interesting is how the colors vary from
pinkish to yellowish to orangish to reddish
And the colors sometimes change in a matter of minutes
Here's a recent morning that began with pickish coloring
Meanwhile inside our cottage the Christmas cacti
bloomed a month before Christmas
This picture is taken in our bedroom facing the west toward Vermont
The plant below is behind my desk
On occasion the sunrises peak through when the
mountains are obscured by clouds
Maybe you didn't believe me when I said that
sometimes the sunrises are yellowish
