  • "UML Use Case FAQ". Short, some good examples.
  • "Use Case Diagramming Guidelines" (S. Ambler). Short, some reasonable examples.
  • "What Is a Quality Use Case?" (S. Adolph, P. Bramble, A. Cockburn, and A. Pols. The sections "Why Use Cases at All?" and "A Brief Tutorial on Writing Use Cases" are short and worth a read.
  • "Use Case Relationships and Diagrams" (H. Smith) (supplementary material for a course on system integration. Longer, but with some accessible-looking examples.
  • Selected chapters from a book on object-oriented analysis and design (C. Larman). Chapter 6 talks about use cases. Longer, but more thorough.
