My name is Bennett Mach and I am a junior at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. I am majoring in computer science. I expect to graduate in May of 2025. At this point in my academic career I have completed much of my major requirements and am looking for practical work experience. I have completed several internships but only one that could be considered in the field of Computer Science.
As an intern at EEPB I was responsible for executing ERC calculations with client data. I was also able to employ my Computer Science skills in order to streamline this calculation process. These projects consisted of automatic data formatting and tax form generation. Being the only member of the team with a background in programming I had to figure out how to implement these projects on my own. Additionally I learned how to communicate with members of my team in order to produce a product that worked the way it was intended.
My experience here was as a culinary intern. I learned much in the way of food preparation as well as organization. Forgetting where the items you prepped are or not having enough is often the differnece between a smooth service and what feels like the end of the world. Additionally I learned how to adapt quickly to sudden menu changes and communicate effectively with my fellow chefs. This was a job that was a lot more physically demanding of me than I expected and I struggled with that. However, working in an environment of people who love what they do and take such pride in their work made it all worth it.
I have been a memeber of the Trinity Trap & Skeet team since freshman year. Currently I server as a mentor to new team members and work in a one-on-one environment to help with their training.
