Wes Lavin's Peacham, Vermont
Autumn Foliage Pictures
Bob Jensen at
Trinity University
My friend Wes Lavin is a better
photographer than me.
Firstly, he has better equipment than me.
Secondly he travels all over northern New England just to take pictures in different
seasons.
Most of my photographs are closer to home, and I'm not really into photography
Wes in into photography as a retired school teacher
I love the fall foliage photographs of Wes Lavin
This year, as in all foliage seasons, Wes visited Peacham, Vermont
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peacham,_Vermont
Peacham is a small and village (slightly over 700
residents) surrounded scenic farms
My church friend Ed Westman from Woodsville is aged 105
He says most "farmers" in Peacham are millionaire hobby farmers
His girl friend aged 99 still lives on one of those farms where she grew up
I don't know whether Wes Lavin photographed her farm or not
I've never been in lovely Peacham
In 1840 Peacham had over 1400 residents
The population is now down to half of that number probably due to those escaping
Vermont's legendary taxes
Wikipedia blames the population loss on the decline of prosperity of small farms
Before snowplows it was common to use snow rollers to crush and pack snow on
roads
